'Considering how much information is out there, the internet can be a pretty dull place. Sometimes it feels like once you have seen one website, you have seen them all. Only the words change. Perhaps the problem is that college pupils are donated an expensive piece of software to learn how to design sites, corporations can rely on their future subscriptions and thus designers mostly only use the tools provided for them. This circular approach inevitably flattens any chance of innovation. Yet code developers are racing ahead with javascript and css, so why have we got stuck with this orthodoxy and uniformity? One little innovation of ours: roll your mouse pointer over this paragraph of text and then click the magnifying glass.
Another reason for the orthodoxy is because static web pages provided by a central server are still the most common form of content-delivery on the internet. Usually this is a pre-formatted html page set to float in the centre of a screen with extra content available by scrolling down. But as we have said, javascript is racing ahead able to control literally all aspects of CSS yet we stick with serving out uniform pages compromised to work on a majority of devices. CODASC is our unique answer - a javascript framework designed to manipulate css and html in real time - to fix these issues and more. It will adjust the layout of a web page according to the size and shape of the screen it is being viewed on. We added typographical tools to try to bring the web page into the realm of quality offered by a printed page and topped that off with features for animation.
Of course a modern web-application requires bespoke data to be able to browse catalogues or log into personal accounts and that is also built in to the framework. Our approach blows apart the concept of persistently re-loading web pages from the server and results in low data usage, particularly suited to mobile web applications.
Having been largely developed by one person but helped by a group of peers and mentors, it is time to open up CODASC, Online Orders and Ezeebook to a larger group. We would like to talk with people who can provide a variety of services such as sales, order delivery and finance to collaborate together on commercial opportunities for all three products.
